The short versionAnifrolumab (Saphnelo) is a lupus medicine that blocks the type I interferon signal, which is overactive in many people with lupus. It is added to your usual treatment to lower disease activity and flares. Because pregnancy data are limited and it is not recommended during pregnancy, planning ahead with your team matters if you may become pregnant.
