BASFI: track your physical function

The Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI) is a ten-question tool that captures how much axial spondyloarthritis limits your everyday activities. It is often used alongside BASDAI, disease activity and function together. Complete it, save your result to track it over time, and print it to bring to your rheumatology appointment.

iAnswer each question based on how easy or hard each activity has been for you, over the last week. There are no right or wrong answers. This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is saved to a server or sent anywhere. Saving a result stores it only in this browser, on this device.

About the scale. Unlike BASDAI, there is no single widely agreed cutoff score for BASFI. It is most useful tracked over time, alongside your BASDAI score and your rheumatology team's assessment, rather than read as a one-off number.
