The Rheumatoid Arthritis Impact of Disease (RAID) score is a seven-question tool that captures how rheumatoid arthritis has affected you over the last week, across pain, physical function, fatigue, sleep, physical and emotional wellbeing, and coping. Complete it, save your result to track it over time, and print it to bring to your rheumatology appointment.
iAnswer each question based on how you have felt over the last 7 days, not just today. There are no right or wrong answers. This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is saved to a server or sent anywhere. Saving a result stores it only in this browser, on this device.

About the scale. RAID runs from 0 to 10, where a higher number means rheumatoid arthritis had more impact on you that week. The seven areas carry different weights in the formula, pain, function, and fatigue count for more, reflecting how much patients said each mattered when the tool was developed. Treat any single score as one data point for a conversation with your team, not a diagnosis or a treatment decision on its own.

How the score is calculated
RAID = (0.21×Pain) + (0.16×Function) + (0.15×Fatigue) + (0.12×Sleep) + (0.12×Physical wellbeing) + (0.12×Emotional wellbeing) + (0.12×Coping). Each of the seven areas is scored from 0 to 10, and because the weights add up to 1, the result is itself a 0 to 10 score. Pain, function, and fatigue carry the most weight.
