PsAID: track the impact of your disease

The Psoriatic Arthritis Impact of Disease (PsAID-12) is a twelve-question tool that captures how psoriatic arthritis has affected you physically and emotionally over the last week, pain, fatigue, skin, function, sleep, mood, and more. Complete it, save your result to track it over time, and print it to bring to your rheumatology appointment.

iAnswer each question based on how you have felt over the last 7 days, not just today. There are no right or wrong answers. This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is saved to a server or sent anywhere. Saving a result stores it only in this browser, on this device.

About the scale. A PsAID score under 4.0 is generally considered a patient-acceptable symptom state (Gossec et al, 2014). The 12 domains carry different weights in the formula, pain and fatigue-related domains count for more, reflecting how much patients said each mattered to them when the tool was developed. Treat any single score as one data point for a conversation with your team, not a diagnosis or a treatment decision on its own.

How the score is calculated

PsAID-12 = (3×Pain + 2×Fatigue + 2×Skin + 2×Work/leisure + 2×Function + 2×Discomfort + 2×Sleep + Coping + Anxiety + Embarrassment + Social participation + Feeling low) ÷ 20. Higher-weighted domains (pain, fatigue, skin, function, discomfort, sleep) count for more than the psychosocial domains, reflecting their relative importance to patients.
